Wong’s Chinese Restaurants
have been awarded an
EcoCertified Business
certificate for improving their air, water and food
with
Space
Certified Technology. EcoQuest International, a
healthy living technologies company, is one of the largest
manufacturers of indoor air purification systems in the
world.
The EcoCertified Home & Business Qualification programs
certify to customers that a business has achieved a standard
of excellence and has been EcoCertified to promote healthy
living with fresher air, safer water and safer food.
Walter and
Jenny Wong, owners of Wong’s Chinese Restaurants,
saw many advantages to obtaining this certification and were
excited to have the opportunity to provide safe air, water
and food to their valued patrons.
After several meetings with
Wendy Kuttner, an EcoQuest Certified Commercial
Business Associate, Certified Indoor Air Quality Specialist
and Certified Advanced Oxidation Specialist, the Wong’s
installed seven different types of purification equipment,
which will help to reduce food contamination, airborne
grease and odors.
The four air systems (Fresh
Air, SelectPure, Eco-Air and Food Pure) use Radiant
Catalytic Ionization (RCI) technology and employ a
combination of high intensity UVX light with a specially
developed rare metal hydrophilic coating on an engineered
matrix to create super oxide ions and hydro-peroxides. This
technology was originally developed in cooperation with
NASA to keep food safe in
manned space missions. The results are clean, fresh air. The
fifth air purifier, Eagle 5000,
will be in the bar area to help eliminate smoke and sanitize
the air to keep it fresh.
Water purification equipment
was installed to purify the water and ice used by the
establishments. The Living Water
purifier combines three technologies – ozonation,
ultraviolet light exposure and photo-oxidation, and
high-density activated carbon block filtration. The process
eliminates harmful bacteria, lead, solvents, chlorine and
other chemicals from drinking water. The
BOS III was installed to
destroy odors and airborne bacteria in the ice maker.
Rick Hill, National Director
of the Commercial Division of EcoQuest, said: “We are
proud of each new place of business that takes these steps
to provide their customers with the very latest in air,
water and food safety.”
Patrons will be
gratified that Wong’s Chinese Restaurants have
the best air, water and food
purification technologies science can provide. Wong’s
restaurants may be found in Portland, Tualatin and
Wilsonville, Oregon.
Photographs of some of the
installations will be added to this site when they arrive.
