The NEW EcoQuest Internet Conference Center

(1) Go to: yourglobalcommunicator.com/ecoquest.htm

(2) First time users click “download here” to install necessary software.

(3) Sign in as a Guest with your First and Last names and click “Go.”

ANNOYING SOUNDS: If you are hearing entry and exit sounds click Actions, then Disable All Sound Effects (at top). The sounds will stop.
FIND YOUR NAME: You should be able to see your name in the lower left hand corner and the microphone and speaker adjustment tools.
TALKING: You can speak by pressing your CTRL key; you will see a 'voice balloon' talking symbol at your name when you press the CTRL key. When done speaking simply release it. (Go ahead and test it)
MICROPHONE VOLUME: When you are speaking the volume should be moving across scale about 1/2 way for others to hear you. If, when you press the CTRL Key you are not getting the volume, check that your microphone is plugged into the right slot. Also, adjust your volume by moving the volume slider to the right on the microphone. You can come to the room anytime to test it. Bring a friend and you can test it together.
NO MICROPHONE NEEDED: If you do not have a microphone you can type messages by putting your cursor in the small text box on the left where it says Send To: (Go ahead and test it)
NO HEADSETS REQUIRED - YOU'RE OK BUT SPEAKERS ARE REQUIRED: If you do not have a headset you will need speakers to hear the meeting.
WHEN YOU WANT TO TALK: Go ahead and press the CTRL Key and hold it down. You will see a raised hand next to your name. This signifies that you are wishing to talk next. This doesn't affect the speaker who is talking; it just assures that you're next in line.
RECOMMENDATION: Even though you can attend the sessions without a headset and microphone you will find the experience enhanced considerably if you can speak AND hear. Radio Shack or your local computer store-only $25-$30 and it's simple to plug in.
SPEAKER IS TOO LOUD or IS TOO SOFT: If you sense a speaker's microphone volume is too high or too low, do him/her a favor. Write a memo in the text box saying "Your microphone is too loud" or "We can't hear you".
