within six months...

EcoQuest goes back
22 years. Many dozens of people have reached high incomes in six months or less through
sales or networking. So the concepts covered here
are clearly possible. But of the thousands who have joined, those
who skyrocket to $10,000 per month in half a year are in the minority. That being said, let's discuss how
a few exceptional cases come
about.
Shar Weinraugh made
it big immediately by marketing to the salon industry. Shar (sounds
like the first half of Sharon) and her husband were salon owners. Impressed by the odor control power of our
air purifiers, she saw that money could be made. She left their salon
to her husband and began presenting air units locally, regionally, and then
nationally. For national expansion she used trade shows. Let's run the numbers:
Sell a Fresh Air as
a Distributor (level 4 in the sales plan)
and you make $317.50. Let's say you spend $17.50 on
brochures and gasoline. Each sale is worth $300. Some salons
need more than one unit. Some might also buy a DuctwoRx (profit
is $250.50) and/or a PowerwoRx (profit is
$244). Some salon owners will buy for their home as well as for their
salon. That's the idea!
10 Fresh Air sales per week =
$3,000 of profit
x 4.3 weeks in a month = $12,900
per month
Note: To
sell 10 units per week you'll probably need to have 20 on hand.
It takes money
to make money.
Some people do not
work hard right from the beginning. Ted & Chris Belz were
realtors. They did well selling the units but didn't leave real estate
and make EQ their career for about a year. Now—doing group presentations at real
estate offices— they typically sell 40 to 50
machines per month (half Fresh Airs, half ecoboxes).
Bubba & Martha Cope
operate from their home as do most EcoQuesters, but Bubba drives all around the
Eastern and Central US selling Eagle 5000s, Blasters, and Fresh Airs. He came
from a sales background and was immediately good at this. "I sell 30
to 40 units each month to small businesses and my specialty is selling Eagles."
20 Eagle 5000 sales generates a
before-expense income
of $12,730. Fresh Air and Blaster
sales are gravy.
Bubba spends $2,000 a month on gas,
motels and food.
Bob Giddens built
his large income strictly through networking. "I've never been good at
selling," says Bob. "I sold 2 or 3 air purifiers each month while I was
getting started, but my focus was definitely elsewhere.
I built my career on prospecting,
recruiting, and leadership.
"In
my first partial month (8
days) I
recruited 4 people. In months two and three I recruited 6 per month. Then
I maintained my recruiting at 2-4 per month for 15 more months. To help my
group,
I did lots of in-home meetings.
"On
the first day of my fourth month I had 43 people
(all
levels) who
wanted to follow my lead as a network builder. The group had grown to 120 people;
I’m saying that 43 of them wanted to build networks (about
a third of the 43 kept their word long term!).
"My month 4 PV
(Point Value) was 50,000, which
translates into 182 Fresh Airs, 34 Success Packs, or any combination of PV
producing orders. I was not an Executive Manager until that month's business
closed. My month 5 PV was 50,000. As a
Manager I was eligible for the top percentage, which generated a bonus check of
$12,400. It arrived on the 18th of the next month. For 13 years I've received
bigger checks, but that first one was the most wonderful.
My group grew by 50 to 100 people per
month for about six months and many of them wanted to be leaders. By the end of
year 2, 1,000 new people were joining my organization every month.

various possibilities. The salon example is about
selling. Shar later developed one of the company's largest networks and now
earns far more from her network than from selling. The real estate example is
also about selling. In addition, Ted & Chris have a network. By contrast, Bubba
& Martha focus exclusively on selling.
The last
example
is about an income that was built through networking. Many salespeople
have done better than Bob Giddens in their first 5 months; but Bob's networking income
outpaced all the top salespeople after the 5th month.

Most Americans have
heard comments about network marketing, ranging from "Don't do it; it doesn't
work" to "I know a guy who made millions and retired at 40."
As with
most things, the truth lies somewhere in between. According to the Direct
Selling Association, 10 million Americans (maybe
as high as 14 million) are signed up with a direct sales or network
marketing company. It is hard to be specific because many people are on the
rolls of more than one company. A wife might be signed up with one company while
her husband is affiliated with another. You may not know it, but about one-tenth
of all the families you know have someone in the household who is enrolled with
a network marketing company.
How many of them are
actually working their program (prospecting,
recruiting, selling, attending or hosting functions, or assisting others)?
Not many. At any given time it is likely that only 1 out of 20 of all MLM
participants is actually working the program he is signed into. The other 19
fall into these categories: avid product users, casual product users,
casual business builders, or dead wood.
How many kids play
football compared to the number who make a team in college? And how many of
those make it onto a professional squad? How many of those last for more than a
year? The sorting process takes its toll in all professions.
Even my wife from
Russia has heard of network marketing (three terms are used: multilevel marketing, MLM, and network
marketing; they are all the same thing). When MLM swept into Russia and
other countries it was touted as an easy way for lots of people to get rich. In
a few cases, the person who brought networking to a particular
country was from a royal family or he was a high ranking politician. It often ended up costing a lot of poor people more than they could afford to
lose. Network marketing is now banned or severely regulated in many countries.
The US story is different. Networking has operated successfully for more than fifty years
and has produced billions of dollars of revenue. Some people have become
rich—just as the big promises say is possible—but most have not. Despite
what you may hear, network marketing is not the next great industry that is
going to take over America. It is a system that relies on numbers of
people rather than sales talent, and it attracts about 1 American in 10.
However, as stated above, about 95% of all the participants (all
companies) are very casual about their involvement.

There is nothing
wrong with participating in a networking program on either a casual or serious
basis, but these tips should be kept in mind:
● Join for a reason, not because you are pressured. Your reason may
be to make money or maybe it will be to have access to a particular line of
products at a favorable price. People join networking companies for social
reasons, as well.
● The start-up options usually include an investment of something less
than $5,000 on the high side or as little as $25 on the low side. If you are
joining to make money or build a career it will be advantageous to start with
some products and business building materials (but
don't spend thousands of dollars unless you are planning to do something).
● Start recruiting immediately. You can figure out all the details
later. Actually, I know of cases where a person has made impressive money
without bothering to figure out the details! The reason you should immediately
start recruiting is called new enthusiasm. You know how special it feels when
you have a new car, new carpeting, or a new friend? No matter how much you love
your car, those new enthusiasm feelings will not last. New enthusiasm is
empowering...and you will be making a huge mistake if you don't utilize it.
Start contacting people and see how many you can recruit.
● Check out the products. Whatever your company sells, buy it and
put it to every test and challenge you can think of. In my first few days I used
my EcoQuest air purifier in several different rooms. I ran it on a high setting
under the sheets of my bed. I tested it against odors and cigarette smoke. Same
with my vitamins. I took them faithfully and noted as many effects as I could
detect. I took more and I took less, trying to determine what changes I could
see. EcoQuest has a big range of products. You don't have to try everything
right off the bat, but try the products you intend to be most involved with.
● Find out what you can about your company's history and their vision for
the future. Merge your own goals into the company's projections. What role do
you see yourself playing?
● Attend any available meetings; read some newsletters; browse through
some websites; ask a few questions. You don't have to know everything—just an
overview. It is important to start quickly if you like what you see (capitalize
on that new enthusiasm). Ask about some of the top success
stories. Learn the names of some big shots. Where are they from? What was their
former occupation and how old were they when they started? How much money do
they make? How quickly did they get off the ground? What methods do they use?
Are their systems available for others to learn from?
There are times
you should not join! These are my opinions; others might think differently.
● Don't join if you feel you are being pushed into something you
don't really want. There are three bottom line questions.
Are you interested in making money? Are you interested in the products? Will you
be active either as a product user, worker or both?
● A fourth possibility deserves mentioning. If you are being recruited by
a friend (or if you take a liking to a stranger
who has approached you), it's not out of the question that you might join
as a favor to your sponsor. It has happened thousands of times with no one being
hurt. More than a few times, an enrollment of this sort has evolved into an
exciting success story.
● It is customary to join with the first person who contacts you and makes
an effort to move you through an evaluation process. In the final analysis, your
success will be up to you and not dependent on whom you sign up with. But you
are not obliged to join if you absolutely cannot get along with the person who
is recruiting you.
● Don't join unless you have an interest in the products your company
offers. In the case of EcoQuest it is hard not to have an interest in cleaner,
fresher, safer air...but some skeptics say just that. The test often boils down
to a financial question; so take money out of the formula as you ponder your
decision. If money were not an object, would you buy these products and enjoy
them in your home and/or business.
● If your goal is to make money, don't expect success to come easily.
Expect it to be exciting, that's okay! But it really will take work. You'll be
facing a learning curve and it's likely that you'll come up against some
frustrations. Occasionally someone has a magical beginning where everything
works out and manna falls from heaven. That's not the norm.
● Don't join if your spouse is absolutely against it. At the very least,
talk it over and come to an understanding.

Не начинайте, если вы
чувствуете, что ввязываетесь в то, чего действительно не хотите.
Ответьте на три вопроса ниже:
Вы заинтересованы в
получении денег? Вы заинтересованы в продуктах? Будете ли Вы
активным работником или потребителем продукта, а быть может, Вы
будете и тем и другим вместе?
●
Так же следует упомянуть и
четвертую возможность. Если Вы вербуете друга (или Вы
симпатизируете новичку, который хотел бы достигнуть вашего
уровня), вы можете его проспонсировать. Это случалось тысячи раз
и без единого промаха. Как правило, такие случаи развивались и
добивались восхительного успеха.
●
Принято присоединяться и
сотрудничать с тем человеком, который контактировал с вами и
приложил усилия провести вас через весь оценочный процесс. В
конечном счете, вы добьетесь успеха, подниметесь вверх, и не
будете зависеть от человека, который подписал Вас. Но Вы не
обязаны подписываться, если совершенно не можете найти «общий
язык» с человеком, который нанимает вас.
●
Не подписывайтесь, если Вас
не интересует продукция и предложения нашей компании. В случае
с EcoQuest трудно не заинтересоваться в очистителях, освежителях,
воздушных защитах...но некоторые скептики говорят это просто так.
Тест часто сводится к финансовому вопросу; так уберите деньги из
формулы, когда обдумываете ваше решение: Если бы деньги не
являлись объектом, купили бы Вы эти продукты и насладились бы

будет волшебным и «манна небесная» посыплется Вам на голову.
● Не
подписывайтесь, если ваш супруг совершенно против этого. Самое
меньшее, поговорить с ним еще и прийти к взаимопониманию. |

In my 38.5 years of
network marketing training I have diagrammed growth systems many
times. My diagrams are not simplistic. Therefore, this is when many
people tune me out. "I don't understand this." "It is too boring."
"You lost me, Bob." At this point many people quit reading
subsequent lessons.
Therefore, I ask you

The essence of
network marketing is numbers; and the mechanism that makes large numbers
possible is called leadership. Get a lot of people representing and using
any good product, hold them together with leadership, and the sales volume will
be impressive. A very rich family named Scott has made millions by selling
paper. Scott tissue. Their profits are based on tens of millions of people each
consuming one roll of toilet paper per week. It really adds up.

This website teaches
a system for developing a downline of 1,000 active people. We don't have to talk
about millions. We'll teach you how to get to a smaller number. And we'll teach
you how to build a following of dozens of other people who will do the same. For
this illustration I chose
1,000 because this will get you to a $200,000 per year income. If you
teach this system to others and then stick with them...and if you develop your
skills as a leader, the sky is the limit. You might even get to a million people.

Step 1
You start as 1 person. Will you use our
products faithfully on a monthly basis? This is Step 1.
There's a price to pay. Products aren't free. You'll have to
decide if you are willing to buy and use a case per month of
Heartland Select and one Essentials For Life. That will generate
125 PV. |

Nowhere in this lesson do we say how long a
step has to take. It is not one month or one week or any fixed time.
Instead, it is entirely up to you. There is a saying: The speed of the
leader is the speed of the gang. The faster you start, the faster your
group will respond. |

Step 2
...is to "double yourself" by getting
one more person to do the same. The methods you will employ
are prospecting (searching
for candidates) and recruiting (signing
those candidates on the dotted line). Step 2 can be
achieved in just a few hours if you immediately start trying.
For some people it might take a week. Approaching friends is the
quickest path to accomplishing this.

Step 3
...is to double once again. This
time it's a little more complex because you have to get 2
additional people. There are two correct ways to do this: You
can get two more yourself. Or you can get 1 more and rely on
your first person to get 1. There is one incorrect way: You can
rely on your first person to get 2.
How competitive are you? Try to
accomplish Step 3 by the end of your
first week. |

What about selling? Do as much as you
can...but without moving your emphasis away from building a network. Go

Step 4
...is add 4 new people and bring your
group to 8. Maybe you've heard this before: Double, double,
double and eventually you'll have millions of people. That
sounds good when it is presented by a slick trainer, but
everyone knows it's impossible...even if they can't figure out
why it's impossible. Here's the answer: You have to
factor in negative factors along with the doubling. Step 5
explains how we handle this problem. We'll take you in a
direction you have not heard before. |

Step
5
...it to make sure you don't just have
people, but rather leaders. Eventually, the volume of work
becomes more than one leader to manage. That's why
double-double-double systems grind to a halt. If you don't have
leaders, the people in your system start to fall apart faster
than new ones can be brought on. In our chart the total number
of people are shown in the far left column. The number of
committed leaders is shown in column 2. |

If you have a bunch of people but no
leaders, reexamine the words you are saying (a) to your prospects when
you first approach them and (b) to the people you are recruiting. |

Step
6
...You should be seeing some
geographical expansion in your group (since
groups naturally expand to where friends live). You
have to bring in 16 new dealers during this step to keep up the
pace ...and 2 more leaders. Moreover, you must keep finding new
personal prospects. Try to get groups started in areas that are
at least 50 miles from where you live. 200+ miles is even
better.
Your goal is to find leaders,
and natural leaders like to be on their
own. |

Let's say you live in Memphis (a big enough
market) but you don't know people anywhere else. How do you expand? The
answer is simple: You recruit locally and Reach Over Their Shoulder.
Some of them will have friends elsewhere.
There are other methods, but this one is
the most obvious. |

This stage is quite significant. Most MLM
participants are not active as leaders and few people get to this point
by luck alone. Work closely with your 10 leaders. They are the key to
your future success.

Step 7
...Your ultimate goal is to keep
doubling and arrive at 1,000 people by Step 11. Even as you
get busier and busier with your expanding group, keep going with
your personal recruiting, with identifying leaders, and
with Reaching Down. A healthy ratio is 1 leader for each 5
non-leaders. You'll work more and more at communicating,
training, motivating, and problem solving. Learn the "Reaching
Over The Shoulder" technique.

to work with leaders at all levels. |

The only way to move to the next steps is
if your leaders are also getting leaders. It is important to understand
this and to work as deep as you can in your group. |

Why the continual emphasis on personal
recruiting? [1] A leader has to keep setting the pace. [2] A major first
level account could be worth a million dollars. [3] Attrition is
always a concern. When 10 or 12 of your leaders are making $100,000
per year each, then you might be wide enough. |

Step 8
...is to double once again. Now
we're talking about a very big step! Your task is to add 64 new
people to your organization. But there is a more realistic way
of looking at it. If you have 4 good legs, each with 16 new
people, the task is done. Your legs will not be equally good.
One may bring in 30 people, while another brings in only 5.
You must also keep working
on personal recruiting. |

Unless you want to slow yourself down, do
not go out of your way to intermix with other groups. Most groups do not
put enough emphasis on network growth. You should want to be the
leader of your group. Then you must develop sub-leaders that are just as
strong and just as independent. |

Step 9
...is to add 128 new people. If you
have 40 leaders, they have to bring in 4-5 new people per
leader. But there is another factor I have to mention. All along
the way you'll have attrition. People will stop drop out for
health reasons, marriage problems, financial problems, inability
to cope with business issues, and any number of other reasons.
In the real world, you might have to add 170 people rather than
128. That's why it is so important to keep building your base of
leaders. |

A benchmark...
I got a $12,400 check based on 50,000 PV in
my 5th month. My PV went over 64,000 in month 7 (the culmination of Step
10); then my check was over $17K.
These Steps are based on numbers of people
and leaders (and the orders these people place), not on
months. |

Step 10
...The goal here is to produce 64,000 PV
in a single month (512 x 125 PV).
This will be a very exciting time. With this much PV you'll
earn a big bonus check. Thus far, this model has been built
around the Heartland Select plan. But how many of your people
are also working on the EcoQuest side of our company? This could
well be a 100,000 PV month if you combine the two programs.

to build a group with 160 leaders. The 1024 people is the easy part.

...Can you do it? How hard will you try?
If you get this far you will be an important leader in Heartland

programs, but we aren't pushy about that.
