Cathy &
Bob joined EcoQuest after experiencing the technology as a
customer. When the product did what was claimed, they told
other people. Those people wanted an air purifier, too.
Bob gave
the names as referrals to his sponsor to sell them, but she
made a smarter move.
Instead
of making those easy sales and pocketing some extra profit,
she showed Bob & Cathy how they could pay for their product
by selling machines to their friends. That decision has
resulted in multiple millions of dollars in business. When
Cathy and Bob started, they weren’t comfortable talking with
people. Now they are Master Managers moving into their dream
home and enjoying their time together.
Here’s
their story:
We came to EcoQuest because of the air units. In
November of 1997 I was walking through a Trade Show and
saw a booth set up with the air purifiers. I will never
forget my first impression at that Trade Show. Later,
that type of marketing became my specialty!
I had no idea what they were, but I was curious so I
asked for a demonstration. I was told that this unit
would eliminate the odors from the rodents I was raising
for pet stores at the time.
I took the unit home on a no-obligation FREE trial. I
would have bet money it couldn't do what they said it
would. But, lo and behold, it really did what they
claimed and it did it in 24 hours. I simply could not
believe it!
At the time, I was a
general foreman for the Raytheon Corporation at a
nuclear power plant in New Jersey. I was a 23-year
career union painter looking at good pay and a pension,
not for a business on the side.
I was earning a
six-figure income and raising rodents on the side in my
garage. I didn't need anything else, especially in
sales. [There is a reference to this story on a
Training Call that was done in January 2006. Anyone
connected to an amimal business is an excellent
candidate for EQ.]
I
went to work the next day and started telling my
employees about how amazing this little machine was.
Four of them wanted one right away. I told the dealer
(who later became my sponsor) that she should call these
people. "They want machines."
She immediately tried to recruit us, saying that I could
sell to my friends at work. "I am not a salesman," I
said. "I can't sell anything. NO WAY!" She told me,
"They already want machines. You can make a couple
hundred dollars and get yours for free, all in one
week." So she sent us a package about the business and
promised to wait until I made a final decision before
calling the people I told her about.
Her package included a Success Manual and some other
stuff. She said if we would order the Success Pack and
sell to the 4 that already were interested, we'd get to
keep the extra machine for free and make a couple
hundred dollars also. "Then," she argued, "if you never
do anything else, you are way ahead." This made sense,
so we got the Success Pack and went to our first
meeting. Three months later, I was full time in
EcoQuest. We made Sales Manager in our fourth month. We
went to the equivalent of a Success Institute and then
to our first Leadership Convention in Nashville in 1998.

JACKSON – Notice Cathy & Bob’s background. They were
financially secure, not looking or interested in a
business, and weren’t skilled salespeople. Yet they have
built a successful Master Managership and Bob is known
around the home office as a Retailing Machine. Everyone
embraces EcoQuest for a different reason. For some it is
their one last chance to prevent foreclosure, for others
it’s a luxury car. For Bob & Cathy it was an absolute
love of and belief in the product.
