Questions and Answers (Medical)
à
After using the shakes for two weeks I am still craving
sweets at night is there something you can suggest that will
help?
As you
continue to make small choices in improving your lifestyle,
both your cravings and mood swings will begin to disappear.
When you are having a craving choose a healthy snack. Try a
piece of hard cheese with a slice of apple or ½ of a
grapefruit. You may also find it helpful to take 1 capsule
of LipoChromizyme with an 8 fl. oz. glass of water.

Can individuals with hypoglycemia use The Enzyme Diet®
SuperFood?
Yes. Most people with
hypoglycemia benefit
from using The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood because it is low
glycemic. This means that it does not cause the large
increases in blood sugar levels and the subsequent crash
that individuals with hypoglycemia experience. A good Enzyme
Diet® weight loss program for individuals with hypoglycemia
consists of:
ü
Replacing
two meals (usually breakfast and lunch) with The Enzyme
Diet® SuperFood.
ü
Two
optional
snacks (usually mid-morning and mid-afternoon); recommended
snacks include fresh fruits and vegetables, an extra serving
of The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood, a small salad, nuts & seeds,
low-fat soup, low-fat yogurt, or an ENERGY or Fruit Fat
Burner Bar.
ü
A
sensible
dinner (see the question about sensible dinners for more
info on what to eat).
This means that an
individual with hypoglycemic tendencies should have no
problem following The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood program
because there are
plenty of opportunities to eat throughout the day. If you’re
hungry or feel that blood sugar levels are dropping, have an
extra Enzyme Diet® shake or eat a snack.
à
Can people with diabetes use The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood?
Yes. Many people with
diabetes are also overweight and losing even just a few
pounds can improve blood glucose control for these
individuals. Because The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood is low
glycemic and a good source of protein and fiber, it does not
cause sharp increases in blood glucose. For those using the
diabetic exchange meal planning
system, The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood mixed in water is
approximately equivalent to one starch and two meat
substitutes.
The Enzyme Diet® weight
loss program for diabetics includes 3 meals and 2 optional
snacks. This provides the flexibility needed for people with
diabetes to customize the program to meet their individual
needs for controlling glucose, losing weight and balancing
their medications. Infinity2 recommends that individuals
with diabetes (or other health conditions) consult their
physician prior to making any changes to their diet,
exercise or supplementation program. Because The Enzyme
Diet® SuperFood is low glycemic and constitutes a big change
in dietary habits, an adjustment in your medications may be
needed, whether it be
an oral hypoglycemic or insulin. The type of medications and
the type of dietary protocol currently being followed by the
diabetic individual will make a difference as to what steps
need to be taken to incorporate The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood
into their program. In addition, losing weight may decrease
the need for medications. Therefore, it is vital that the
patient work with their physician to adjust medications
during this transition. It is also important to monitor
blood glucose levels more frequently during this time. This
is important for all diabetic patients and is especially
important if insulin dependent. The decreased calorie and
carbohydrate intake can result in a low blood sugar episode
if insulin levels are not matched to the new dietary
pattern.
à
Will The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood interfere with any
medications?
There are no known
interactions between the nutrients in The Enzyme Diet®
SuperFood and the common medications for heart disease,
diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, low thyroid,
depression, anxiety and antibiotics. Check with
your physician and/or
pharmacist to verify that your specific medication will not
interact with the ingredients of The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood.
The Enzyme Diet® Superfood is considered a food, so if your
medication states that it should be taken on an empty
stomach, you should not take your medication at the same
time as The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood.
à
Is there any disease or condition that would prevent someone
from using The Enzyme Diet®?
There are no known
contraindications to using The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood. The
Enzyme Diet® SuperFood contains only all-natural, whole food
nutrients and does not contain any stimulants or drugs. It
is a good source of protein,
fiber and other nutrients. It can provide a nutritious meal
or snack for those who want to lose weight or those who just
want a source of good nutrition for overall health. However,
individuals with health conditions should talk with their
health professional before beginning this or any diet or
exercise program.
à
I have more gas and/or abdominal bloating when I use The
Enzyme Diet® SuperFood. Is this normal?
A few people have reported
increased gas production when they first start using The
Enzyme Diet® SuperFood. Gas is actually created by the
bacteria in the stomach and intestines. The bacteria break
down fiber and other food
components that aren’t digested from our diets and
use it for energy. The Enzyme Diet® SuperFood is a good
source of fiber, and for many people, using The Enzyme Diet®
more tha doubles their typical fiber intake. The result can
be increased gas production by the bacteria, particularly if
the bacterial population of the gut is imbalanced. Some
types of bacteria produce more gas than others. Individuals
experiencing gas may try using Total Flora Support™ to
rebalance the friendly bacteria and/or add Digest-a-Meal™
with meals and snacks. You may also
try changing to the other version
of The Enzyme Diet®. If you’re using the soy version, try
whey. If you’re using the whey version, try soy.
à
I have been mildly constipated after using The Enzyme Diet®
SuperFood. Is this common?
A small number of people
have reported experiencing mild constipation while using The
Enzyme Diet® SuperFood. The Enzyme
Diet® SuperFood is a
good source of fiber. For many people, using The Enzyme
Diet® more than doubles their usual fiber intake. The
intestinal system may not be used to that much fiber and it
may take some time for it to adjust. In addition, if water
intake is not adequate to match the increased fiber
consumption, constipation may result. Individuals
experiencing constipation may try the following suggestions:
-
Double
your current water intake.
-
Include Total Flora Support™ to help rebalance friendly
bacteria.
-
Add
Digest-a-Meal™ to meals and snacks.
-
Drink orange juice and/or prune juice as one of the
snacks
-
Eliminate caffeine and carbonated beverages.
-
Increase physical activity. Exercise stimulates the
muscles of the intestines to move food through the
system.
-
Try
changing to the other version of The Enzyme Diet®. If
you’re using the soy version, try whey. If you’re using
the whey version, try soy.
-
Follow the label directions on Aloe Cleanse to relieve
mild constipation.
-
See
your physician if constipation
persists for more than 2 weeks.
