Each week we will spotlight one product—usually from the Consumables Line—and we encourage each Dealer and Leader to focus a little extra attention on this item. This focus should include:

I've been using multivitamins for nearly 40 years. Prior to that, I was given cod liver oil as a child, and I've consumed the "supplements" the food industry provides to our whole population. I use iodized salt. I drink vitamin D fortified milk. I sometimes eat cereals with vitamins added. In the last 15 years I have occasionally purchased calcium fortified orange juice. These examples are mentioned to remind our readers that even the food industry and the US government believe in and practice supplementation. But the government approach is quite limited. Iodized salt was created to prevent a thyroid tumor called goiter.

In 1970, I started taking a multivitamin/multi-mineral product from a network marketing company. It was a good product based on the USRDA nutrition levels, but it was not all natural even though all of the distributors who sold it claimed it was. Nonetheless, I am convinced that a synthetic or partly synthetic product is better than taking no supplements at all. The typical American diet is woefully short in many areas.
