Website shows that Battelle is a significant non-profit organization, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, that has existed since 1929. Battelle's Trend #1 is: "Breathing Easy: Indoor Air Quality." Trend #5 is: "Water, Water Everywhere, but is it Pure? Whole-house Water Quality ." Trend #7 is: "The Baby Boomer Factor: They Don't Want to Get Old ." In this location, we used to link to a website that addressed the benefits of hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizer with strong capabilities as a disinfectant and sterilizer. Although the website is no longer active, one quote said, "Vaporized hydrogen peroxide ... is now being used for low-temperature sterilization by way of a plasma sterilizer."

Rick Hill, EcoQuest's former Director of Commercial Sales sent this summary about RCI (Radiant Catalytic Ionization):

Reduction of Spores in a Simulated A/C Duct

The bacterial spore strips used were of very high concentrations, i.e. 106 spores per strip. Two types were used: B. stearothermophilus and B. subtilis var. niger. The B. stearothermophilus is known to be resistant to hydrogen peroxide and represents a significant challenge for H2O2-based sterilization. The B. subtilis var. niger is a large Gram positive rod that is closely related to the spore that causes anthrax (B. anthracis) and is commonly used to test sterilization effectiveness against anthrax spores.
