Dr. James Marsden with Mike Jackson

Dr. Marsden. "Ozone is very easily measured ... it also can be a byproduct of air pollution. Because it can be an indicator of air pollution, a lot of people confuse it as being the actual pollutant and that's not the case at all. Ozone is an integral part of what sunlight does to clean the air and without ozone we wouldn't have life on this planet."

Mike Jackson: "What is the right level?"

Dr. Marsden. "It is a low amount and it probably depends on the environment you are in. If you are in an area with a lot of pollution, then a higher amount would be necessary to balance the ecosystem. A low level of ozone is required to continuously clean the air and make it breathable."

"Here in Kansas where we have a lot of thunderstorms and lightning, after a storm you do get the cleanest smell that you ever get in nature. Everyone in this part of the world knows what it smells like after a thunderstorm and that's what it is, just a nice, clean smell."

Dr. Marsden. "We've just completed Phase 1 of a 3-Phase research study. This technology is inactivating a whole host of harmful bacteria, also mold spores with great effectiveness and also Candida yeast with great effectiveness. For public health we looked at Staphalococcus aureus we saw 99.9% of this virus eliminated with just 24 hours of exposure to this technology."

Dr. Marsden: "The RCI technology ... Hundreds of thousands of people die every year from infections in hospitals. People are exposed to various bacteria and viruses that might have been brought into the environment by other patients. In hospitals we see super strains of bacteria that survive the cleaning and sanitization processes. We're seeing consistently good results."

Mike Jackson interviews Dr. James Marsden. Marsden: "I have your product right here in my office. I totally believe in it. One of the first things I did when my mother was sick was buy one of these things for her home. My son has two children, a 4-year old and a brand new baby. I also bought one for his home. Children are very susceptible to airborne diseases. There's a lot of concern about mold spores. My sister borrowed my parents' machine and all of a sudden she breathes better, the air smells fresh and the mold went away. What we are doing now is building a scientific case for these effects."

Mike Jackson interviews Dr. James Marsden. Marsden: "After the energy crisis in the 1970's we put a lot of emphasis on sealing our home. The effect of this is that we have sealed our homes and changed the ecosystem in a home. You no longer have the effect of fresh air coming into that environment. We see an increase of allergies. It's becoming really a national problem. We don't have the fresh, breathable air in our homes. Say you get mold in a home. There's no natural process to control this or biological hazards."

"The only way that outdoor air is cleaned is by the sun. The sun produces ozone and ionization. When you have particles floating around in the air, the UV light from sunlight puts an electrical charge on some of the particles. The ionization process from sunlight actually cleans the air and removes the particles from the air." He also talks about ozone and its impact on removing carbon monoxide from air.

Mike Jackson with Dr. James Marsden. "This was an important company because the kinds of things you were doing."

"I was impressed with this technology's ability to inactivate bacterial pathogens, viruses, mold spores and so on. I use the analogy of a football coach who has a young Joe Montana walk on the field. He has 20 years to coach with this athlete. That's the way I look at this technology. To be able to evaluate it and apply it to any number of hazards, including national security issues."

Surface Testing results using ozone at .02 ppm and Radiant Catalytic Ionization (RCI)

Staphalococcus aureus -- 98.5% reduction

Staphalococcus aureus r (MRSA - Methicillin Resistant) -- 99.8% reduction

Bacillus spp. -- 99.38% reduction

Pseudomonas aeruginosa -- 99.0% reduction

Escherichia coli -- 98.1% reduction

Streptococcus spp. -- 96.4% reduction

Listeria Monocytogenes -- 99.75% reduction

Candida albicans -- 99.92% reduction

Stachybotrys chartarum -- 99.93% reduction

Scientific tests have demonstrated the use of EcoQuest air purifiers substantially reduce microbial populations on surfaces -- including but not limited to the above-named organisms. Presently EcoQuest does not make a similar claim with respect to airborne microbials. This Phase 2 testing is underway and results will be available in 2007.
