Climbers Club Lesson #1

As of November 16, 2006,

Leaders Club is merging with Climbers Club

Changes will take some time to implement.

7  Simple  Leadership

Commitments

by Bob Giddens - updated on 11/16/06

(formatted in a narrow layout for easier printing)

Climbers Club is a "focus system." These lessons provide business building advice; but a newcomer must go directly to the Climbers Club site to get started.

Lesson #2 talks about the role of selling in EcoQuest and about the different types of people we find in network systems.

Lesson #3 get's into some of the heavy details.

Climber Commitment #1:

A Leader's Attitude

1 "As a Climber. I will THINK, PLAN, WORK, RECRUIT and SOLVE PROBLEMS from a Leader's mindset."

I am passionate about these objectives:

...EcoQuest serves people with indoor air purification, nutrition, laundry technology, water systems and a home-based business opportunity and makes a difference in their lives.

...The work I do helps the economy as well as my family.

...EcoQuest offers its leaders and dealers a lifestyle that is unique and appealing.

...I see myself playing a significant role in the company's future. I will build strong Legs and a network of Climbers.

...I will work to expand my marketing outreach to multiple geographic areas.

Climber Commitment #2:

A Recruiting Commitment

2.  "I will find Climbers from scratch or from my existing group at the rate of at least 1 new Climber per month." (I'll try for more; I want to get off to a strong start and maintain a leader's pace.)

Climber Commitment #3: To Make A Weekly Report

3.  "I will complete an APPA REPORT (Attitude, Planning, Progress, Activity) each week. It will be sent to my uplines, but the most crucial thing is what it says to me.  Reporting to myself is crucial."

Climber Commitment #4: To Be 'Active'

4.  "I will qualify as 'Active' every month based on my rank (200 PQV for Dealers; 500 PQV for Distributors and MITs; 1,000 PQV for Managers and above). I will 'move QV' via sales, recruiting, personal use and demo units."

Climber Commitment #5: To Use My Own Products

5 "In addition to my Climber order, I will start a second Triple-A order -- let us call it Triple-B. I will use, promote and LOVE my products. They have the potential to extend my life. The marketing value of being a solid user justifies the expenditure."

NOTE: Shipping is free on any Triple-A or Triple-B order over 50 QV. One Climber paid $9.50 in shipping on her Triple-B order and said she would change next month's order to get more product for just a slightly higher total. Good point.

Climber Commitment #6: To Write A Solid Plan

6 "I will write a written goal to develop at least 8 Legs in width (twice what the Climber program calls for). I'll maintain a Leg Chart and send comments about each of my leg leaders to my upline. I am also committed to developing 8 Climbers in depth in each of my Working Legs."

Climber Commitment #7: To Stay Connected

7 "I will listen to 3 company conference calls per week (guests are a good idea but are not as crucial as the participation). These can be Lifeline calls, Nutrition calls or any company call (group calls do not count toward this quota). The point is to STAY CONNECTED, to stay in the game."

The Above Requirements are Modest

The requirements are modest because we want you to say yes!

The goal of Climbers Club is to get people to participate at a level that is comfortable for them and profitable, too. We want some "I don't know if I'm serious or not" people to participate. Climbers Club will help them decide. Finally, we welcome those who are thinking, "I'm not going to do EcoQuest in a big way, but I want to learn the system."

There is a very small sales assignmentone Fresh Air or one LaundryPure per month. And we want you to start fast, but that's up to you. The highly motivated people will set bigger goals on their own.

Climbers Club is about consistency. If a person does the 7 Simple Leadership Commitments and enlists others to do the same, growth and QV will follow.

We do not ask Climbers to do their business in any specific way. Everyone will be different. We will cover a menu of things that are possible, then each person has to find what works best for him.

We simply ask you to make the 7 Commitments. You can have big goals or small goals. You can be full time or part time. You can be a great seller or a terrible seller.

Do you get it? If so, call your upline leader and say...

I'm in. I'll write some goals within two weeks.

ALERT: Watch this and other Climbers Club pages for updates.

Lesson 1 continues...

Your "Leadership Commitment"

declares that you've chosen the Climber Program

as your course to success.

A class cannot teach you to be a salesman. But Climbers Club will start a process that, in the long run, is more profitable than selling. Leadership and recruiting may or may not be your best strengths, but they are a good starting point.

A career can be built by a non salesperson and even by a weak recruiter. Careers are built through leadership. Our bonus system pays on volume, not on selling.

Climbers Club WILL HELP YOU...

1. ...Build a network that will grow and last! Some of the members in your network will be good salespeople; others will not be. This system works for anyone who is willing to embrace the minimums.

2. ...Feel okay about your sales skills. If you are strong at selling, Climbers Club salutes you and encourages you to use every bit of your talent in that area. If you are weak, that's okay, too.

3. ...Recruit people who would otherwise say, "I can't sell" or "I don't like MLM."

4. ...Better understand the system. We will try to reduce your tendency to be your own enemy.

5. ...Recover from a funk and launch with a clean slate if you've been stalled or if you feel inadequate as a seller or recruiter.

6. ...Train your people in a way that works for the masses.

The Climbers Club will NOT...

Do your work for you.

Solve all of your problems.

Eliminate the need for prospecting.

Relieve you from trying to make sales.

Stop you from being self-destructive every now and then.

5% of our people make good money from selling. Our commissions are exceptional and there is a great need for our products, but 95% of our dealers are weak salespeople. They make occasional sales, and that's enough. A few people—Donna Abels is an example of this—start out with a fear of selling but grow into capable salespeople.

A weak salesperson's best chance for building a permanent income is through building a volume-producing network. In a sense, through recruiting. But in a bigger sense, through leadership.

Climbers Club will facilitate growth in this area.

Show your new candidates the 7 Simple Leadership Commitments. There are no overly-taxing requirements that will scare them away. These benefits will be realized:

Through Climbers Club...

Your willingness to approach people will increase.

More people will consider your offer and many will choose to participate.

You will have horizontal growth (from your personal recruiting) and in-depth growth under your Climbers. As the numbers accumulate, the Law of Averages will come into play. Some of your people will be good sellers. A few will work trade shows. A small number will look into the commercial side of EcoQuest.

The volume will come. You will have more people taking our nutritional products. More and more people will buy Fresh Air units and and LaundryPures for their homes. Success Packs and Master Packs will be ordered. Some people will buy SpringHouses or Living Waters. Some will use the skin care line. The impact of 100 people will amaze you, and you will get to 100 people faster with this plan than with any other approach.

When you are moving 400 units per month—counting Fresh Air, LaundryPure and the units that come in Success Packs—you'll be earning $25,000. This is not a projection; this is a fact.

This level of productivity will be achieved when your group's rate of recruiting reaches 50 new Dealers per month: that's 50 people each recruiting 1 or 25 people each recruiting 2 or any combination you can come up with. Ten people recruiting 5 each would be fantastic.

For 20 years this company has focused on selling. Climbers Club does not downplay selling but it places a higher emphasis on simple recruiting and Leadership. We acknowledge that selling is only easy for about 5% of the population. Climbers Club is for those 5% and for the other 95%, too.

When you are ready to agree to the 7 Simple Leadership Commitments, send your goals to your own upline Leader. Be sure to identify yourself by full name (with spouse name, if applicable), phone and email address. Your Manager and I look forward to working with you.

Other materials and forms will follow. Review what you've read and stay tuned for more. You're eventually going to have to teach this stuff, you know!

Sincerely and enthusiastically,

Bob Giddens
