In the nineteen forties, the US government launched the Manhattan Project to explore the science of building an atomic bomb. HEPA filtration (for High Efficiency Particulate Arrestment) was developed to reduce the possible spread, within labs, of radioactive airborne particulate. A holder of many electronics patents, inventor Stan Weinberg took an interest in air purification fifteen years ago. He built a battery-powered personal air purifier (video clip) that hangs like a necklace below the user's breathing zone to repel pollen, smoke, and other pollutants. This photo shows a China model test result. The industry testing protocol for measuring particulate removal is to take a reading at 2 inches from the unit's grille. On the 1-micron scale, the measure-ment drops from 10,000 or higher to zero.

A 99% reduction would impress anyone, even an expert. But the China and US models both reduce the count all the way to zero.

The space-saving US model, the PT-100, provides triple ZEPA™ filtration. ZEPA stands for Zero Emission Particulate Arrestment. Air that starts at 10,000 particles per cubic foot and is cleaned by 99% will measure at 100. A second 99% reduction brings it to 1. These amazing numbers are easily proven with a particle meter.

ZEPA stage 3 is not needed in clean bedrooms. In such cases, the central filter can be saved for future use and the flow will increase.

Our technologies outperform all other units at any range. In particulate testing, the smaller the particulate, the more numerous they are. On the virus-size scale (.3 microns), triple ZEPA filtration can drop the reading from two or three hundred thousand to zero. Yes, ZERO!

PT-100 comes with 2 normal" filters, a gray-tinted ozone scavenging filter and a replacement pack with 3 additional filters and a timing strip. Normal filter life in the US is 6 months. Users who install the gray-shade filter on the input side will clean VOC's (volatile organic chemicals) from the room but allow a low level of ozone to flow from the ion engine for odor control.
