I joined network marketing 42 years ago and have been with several companies. I've had a wonderful career with earnings of $15 million, lots of exotic company-paid trips and more than a dozen bonus cars. In other words, I've been one of the winners. In 42 years I've probably recruited 300 people. Ten people from my first big group (40 years ago) are still earning significant incomes from the networks I helped them build.

One of the first things I learned 42 years ago was that not everyone will get rich. Networking opportunities are often presented that way but it is not true. It takes work, skill and maybe even some good luck. Picking the right company and joining at the right time are crucially important.

That is also true of working for Wal-Mart, playing football, or becoming an airline pilot. I know people who became Eastern Airline pilots a few years before Eastern went out of business. Just as they began to make good money, suddenly they were laid off. Maybe 25,000 kids play football for every 1 that gets into the NFL. We could give many more examples.

Big money is possible because this is the right company and the right time. I've been through growth surges with Shaklee vitamins and Alpine air purifiers. I know what I'm talking about. But even when things are booming, it's still not a free ride. Most people who make money work very hard. We occasionally see luck come into play. Someone finds a few strong recruits and coasts to a highly profitable rank—usually with a lot of FREE upline support.

The general rule would go like this. If you have some talent, if you work hard, if you work smart and if you stay the course for several years...then there's a very good chance that you will make a lot of money. We have lots of room at the top if you are a strong leader.

Your chances of success are very high—perhaps higher than 95%—

if you can cover the 4 "ifs" that are listed in the previous paragraph.

If you want to make $250,000 or more you'll have to build 7 to 12 very strong legs. The model to the right has 4.

The name of the game begins with recruit, recruit, recruit.

Then you have to focus on building leaders under leaders under leaders.

When your legs get strong enough to "grow on their own," from that point on you have it made.

5.   Is the risk too great? If I give this a try and miss the mark, would I still be okay?

There's a down side to everything. When the twin towers crashed down in New York City, I'll bet there were some new employees among the victims. A few weeks earlier they were thanking their lucky stars for landing a great job in an amazing building. I know people who invested with Enron and saw their savings grow by 200% in just three years. We all envied them. Six months later they had lost their jobs and their life savings. Here's what Bob Giddens has to say about his network marketing experiences and this company:

7.   Is there something important I don't understand?

We don't know what you understand or don't understand. Here are some areas where some people have trouble:

You may not yet know how exceptional...and unique...and beneficial... and environmentally-attuned Vollara products are. You will be proud to use and represent these products. Moreover, our corporate goal is to maintain a "Best in Class" lead in each of our lines.

You may not understand how network marketing works and the principles on which it is based. Although we have very marketable products, networking is not about selling. It is about building and leading a perpetual network of product users and recruiters. A thousand loyal distributors who buy for their own needs and occasionally recruit others is, in effect, a million dollar business that will generate close to $100,000 of annual income for the group's leader. A leader who sets up multiple subordinate groups that do this can make up to a million dollars a year.

You may wonder if the Vollara growth projections are even possible.

Well, a projection is not something that can be proved in advance. But this writer benefited from two earlier network marketing surges. All the indicators are there again. Try to HONESTLY answer this question. If you have something bigger and better going, stick with it. Other than that, we don't see how you can say no to our offer.

9.   How will my friends, relatives and the public respond? How will I respond once I get in the game? Will I be a good recruiter? Will I be a good leader? Will I be able to put up with the times when people say no?

We can tell you right now that most of your friends, relatives and other prospects will initially say they are not interested. That's normal. They may have every reason to be interested...but their natural inclination is to be defensive.

Have you ever tried to walk up to a squirrel and feed it? He instinctively runs to the nearest tree. Being curious by nature, the squirrel will keep his eye on you. Let's say you have some peanuts. His little nose will be sniffing the air like crazy. If you leave some nuts behind and then come back with more nuts every day for a week, what will happen?

I think you know what will happen. The squirrel will get more and more comfortable with your presence. Before long he'll feel safe enough to stay on the ground. Within a week you'll be able to toss nuts and he'll scramble to eat them. If you persist for two weeks he'll probably take nuts from your fingers.

The same is true with prospects. Be patient. Don't scare them away with pushiness or arguments. Keep your focus on their needs and how we can fulfill them. We have a genuine money-making opportunity, which is something they want. Not all humans are all as curious as squirrels, but some of them are!

10. All and all, am I a believer? If not, can I become one?
