earnings of $15 million, lots of exotic company-paid
trips and more than a dozen bonus cars. In other
words, I've been one of the winners. In 42 years I've

what you understand or don't understand. Here are

and other prospects will initially say they are not
interested. That's normal. They may have every
reason to be interested...but their natural
inclination is to be defensive.
Have you ever
tried to walk up to a squirrel and feed it? He
instinctively runs to the nearest tree. Being
curious by nature, the squirrel will keep his eye on
you. Let's say you have some peanuts. His little
nose will be sniffing the air like crazy. If you
leave some nuts behind and then come back with more
nuts every day for a week, what will happen?
I think you
know what will happen. The squirrel will get more
and more comfortable with your presence. Before long
he'll feel safe enough to stay on the ground. Within
a week you'll be able to toss nuts and he'll
scramble to eat them. If you persist for two weeks
he'll probably take nuts from your fingers.
The same is
true with prospects. Be patient. Don't scare them
away with pushiness or arguments. Keep your focus on
their needs and how we can fulfill them. We have a
genuine money-making opportunity, which is something
they want. Not all humans are all as curious as
squirrels, but some of them are!
