The Four Mothers...
Do you want to build one or more Power Legs? I'm talking about accounts
(we call them Legs) that eventually will contain
thousands of dealerships and dozens of Sales Managers. I'm talking
about Legs that might be worth thousands of dollars every month in
upline royalties.
An EcoQuester is more likely to be successful in developing Power Legs
if he is a powerful and talented person himself, but that's not the key.
Even a person of only modest means and talents can catch what we
sometimes call a Big Fish. The key is to recruit people with 4
very specific qualifications, which in this essay are
called The Four Mothers.
(I'm assuming you are old enough to remember when Saddam
Hussein used the term "The Mother of all Wars" to describe his invasion
of Kuwait. This is just a play on that reference. These are The Four
Mothers of all Prospect Qualifications.)
Qualifier #1
A person must be found who wants to change his or her life and is not currently focused on some other path to achieving change. (10)
Qualifier
#2
This person has to become a strong believer in the merits and cause of indoor air purification. It also helps if he or she becomes a strong believer in the Infinity2 theory of better nutrition through enzymes. (10)
Qualifier #3
This person must have some people skills. Operational skills (the skills of a salesman, a recruiter, a leader or a public speaker) can be learned along the way. But a certain amount of charm and likability have to be there to start with. (10)
Qualifier #4
This person has to have courage and staying power. For most people, the easiest path in life is to be an employee and work for someone else, and there's nothing shameful about having a job. Most EcoQuesters should have at least one job in the household while their business is being built, because going into business for oneself is never a cake walk. In all business ventures there are setbacks, staffing disappointments and money pressures. (10)
Not all prospects are 100% qualified in all of these areas. The most
difficult area to nail down is #1. Someone might say he wants to build
an EcoQuest business, but in his heart of hearts he is still hoping that
something else will come along. Maybe he has something specific in mind,
maybe not. The truth is, very few people see a multilevel marketing
program as their "dream career." It's just not something most people
have ever dreamed about before. (This points out the
advantage of recruiting people who have been in MLM before. They are
more likely to have that dream.)
We must build on the dream concept by telling stories about people like
Kristin & Bob MacPherson who have built a totally new world for
themselves through EcoQuest. This beautiful home, their
cars, international vacations, time to spend with their family and
a priceless sense of accomplishment and service have all emerged from a
decision they made 7 years ago to buy a $25 Dealership and a $2,500
Success Pack.
Look at the scores (10) I entered at the
end of each Qualifier. That's how I would rate Kristin MacPherson in
these 4 areas. No wonder she and Bob are doing so well. They score 40
out of a possible 40.
It is possible to build an EcoQuest business without being strongly
qualified in all of these areas. I can picture just about any hard
working person making sales, going to Sales Manager or maybe even
climbing the ranks to Coordinating Manager. But it's not likely that a
person who lacks these qualifications will ever go to the very top.
When you develop (or update) your prospecting
plan, keep the Four Mothers in mind. It's worth chasing a Kristin-type
prospect for many months. Don't take one shot and throw in the towel.
When a prospect gives you the cold shoulder, the best place to look for
an opening is with item #2. Try to get the technology into their home.
Stop by once a month and help clean their unit. Don't be pushy, just be
there.
Your goal is to find the right person and then help that person (a) get
started, (b) move up the ranks and (c) understand the concepts that will
take them to the top (such as the concepts this essay
covers). You can't make someone else succeed, but you can
give them good direction.
I cannot overstress how important it is to find the right someone
to start with. Better yet, keep searching until you have 4 or more of
these right someones. Believe me, anyone who develops 4
Kristin-type Legs will be way up high in income ranking!
Sincerely and enthusiastically,
Bob Giddens
Affirmation:
"I will find 4 new Kristin-type Legs. I'm going
to show this email to my friends and ask them to help me in this quest.
"I will not give up until this is done. I might
even go all the way to 8.
"I understand that this assignment will take
months, perhaps years to complete -- but achieving it will make me
financially secure and successful for the rest of my life."
