The Dehydration Problem in America

Chronic dehydration affects sixty percent of the U.S. population, and the reasons are clear.

High on the list of reasons why people don't drink water is bad taste. Our dislike for water is based on heavy chlorination and localized impurities, and it has profoundly changed our way of life. An American's typical beverage of choice is coffee, soda, iced tea, milk, juice, beer . . . anything but water.

Whereas six to eight glasses of water per day is the official American recommendation, many of us do not drink even one glass of pure water on a regular basis. When we choose water, our sources are usually less than ideal. Read more about bottled water, tap water and acidic water in another essay.

Dehydration shows up as fatigue, reduced alertness, lack of ambition, wrinkled or dry skin, slower recovery times from illnesses or injury, and slow-functioning muscles. Even top athletes tend to be dehydrated. They have been brainwashed to choose highly acidic electrolyte drinks as a water substitute.

When we talk to doctors about our general health, they say little or nothing about our water drinking habits! They are more likely to say that one glass a day of wine is healthy than to counsel us on drinking the right kind of water. They know how important hydration is, but in all likelihood they feel that anything said about water habits would flow in one ear and out the urethra.

This trend has changed dramatically in Japan and Korea, and it is changing in China. Doctors there are very likely to recommend the consumption of alkalinized, micro-clustered water. More about that later.

60% of the Body is Water

The percentage of water at birth is closer to 90%. Then it becomes lower as we age. Indeed, the shriveling up of old people is easy to see. Through the mid-years of our lives, just over 60% of our body is made up of water. One of our most important organs—the brain—is 70 to 80% water. This leads to an obvious conclusion: One of the most important health considerations we should become aware of is hydration.

To many of us, drinking water seems more like an inconvenience than a necessity. When a waitress asks what we would like to drink, we typically ask for coffee, tea, soda or milk. Ad slogans have convinced us that soft drinks are more refreshing. This is untrue, but it's a philosophy we have accepted. And have you noticed that a waiter will refill an empty coffee cup or tea glass much sooner than an empty water glass?

Water keeps our blood flowing freely and effectively. . . and this is so vital! Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to every cell and organ. It helps flush out toxins, waste products and carbon dioxide. It is a primary agent of immunity and healing.

So how do we feel if dehydration is reducing our blood's functionality. We all know this answer. We would feel a little sluggish or very sluggish—depending on the extent of our dehydration. This problem would not exist for just a day or two; it would be chronic. To one degree or another, that's how 60% of Americans feel right now. They felt that way yesterday and they'll feel that way tomorrow. Many people can't remember what "normal health" is supposed to feel like because dehydration is their norm.

Now for the good news.  Living WaterEssentials, a home electrolysis system, converts normal tap water into super-healthful, super-hydrating, alkalinized, ionized, micro-clustered water. Living Water Essentials has a high Oxidation-Reduction Potential (known as ORP) and is exactly similar to the popular food term, antioxidant. Imagine converting your drinking water into the most powerful antioxidant in your whole diet.

The principle of using the minerals in water to divide it into alkaline and acidic segments has been known for three decades. The Essentials Living Water 380-watt "electrolysis engine" is made in Japan exclusively for our company. It is 30-50% more powerful than other home water electrolysis systems. It produces water with a measurably higher ORP. Every time. Every day.

When you make your own water, a pint of "bottled water" will cost pennies instead of a dollar or more at your local convenience store. With Essentials Living Water, you and your family members will enjoy drinking lots of water. It literally feels different as it goes down—and we'll give you several gallons to try in your own home.

Yes, you can test this idea in your own home. No cost. No pressure.

Your body will respond to Essentials Living Water in the obvious ways you would hope for:

? A High Level of Energy

? Healthy Elimination

? Enthusiasm for life

? Better General Health

Hydration is not a cure or preventative for diseases (unless you call dehydration a disease). Whether it is alkaline, neutral or acidic, good old H2O is a basic requirement of life, not a medicine. Alkaline water—if it assists in better-hydrating your body—fits better under the category of common sense.

That's why we let you experiment with gallon after gallon in your own home and with your own family members.

Will it surprise you to hear that people who suffer from diabetes, gout, headaches

and other discomforts feel better under better hydration? It shouldn't surprise you!

...Because all people feel better when they are properly hydrated. ...Animals, too!

Common Sense about Water

We feel discomfort when we don't replace the water we lose through breathing, sweating and elimination.

Hydration is not just the amount of liquids we drink. Beverage choices also matter. Sugar, caffeine and alcohol (many alternative beverages have two of these) all cause the body to lose water faster than normal.

Beer, coffee, tea and soda drinkers are all familiar with the fast-flow-through effect of drinking these beverages.

Common thinking tells us that good natural water is the world's most important beverage.

There are some types of extreme injury or heart disease when restricted water intake (intentional dehydration) is important. All other human conditions benefit from natural hydration. An Online source provided this slate of problems that require good hydration. It is rather short, but the final item tells the real story!

  • Arthritis and inflammatory disorders
