Major Announcements

At the opening of this convention we were told there would be seven major announcements at convention 2008. Either these guys need to learn how to count or I need to do a better job of sorting things out. These topics were covered at this outstanding convention!

1.   There is a new sponsoring incentive to offset PQV during the Summer Blitz.

2.   The new GPS will be based on sponsoring.

3.   Major overhaul had been done on the websites.

4.   Soon financing will be a SNAP with a simplified website and financing tools for all but UCFS.

5.   Ruby Slippers Club is now for all women of EQ.

6.   What we have been calling the Energy Division is now called EcoTrust Energy.

7.   activTek is adding programs for commercial PowerwoRx.

8.   The Gemini, our new HEPA and RCI air purification product is unveiled.

9.   LaundryPure2 coming soon! Approx 4 x 7 x 18! Price will be lower.

10. The EcoQuest Marketplace is name-changed to Inner Circle Buyer’s Club.

11. Unovus (UNOVUS) is proposed as an Asia-based worldwide MLM that will be linked to EcoQuest and sell "a few" EcoQuest products.

12. Heartland Select — An amazing health product made from Muscadine grapes (berries) and three other grapes. On October 1, 2008, Heartland will open as an independent, stand-alone company that incorporates all Infinity2 products and has a direct bridge to EcoQuest. In other words, the Infinity2 Nutrition Division will become an independent company, but it will still be a division of EcoQuest.

Breakout sessions

By 9:00 AM Thursday, breakout sessions were underway and my frustrations were beginning. I could not attend all of the breakout sessions. The options presented were:

Those sessions were all available between 9:00 and 10:15. At 10:15 a new round of sessions began, with some duplicate subjects. In the afternoon, two more breakout periods were offered, but I also had to attend the Trade Show before the 3:00 PM opening ceremony.

Friday morning the general session kept everyone captivated. Then from 2:00 to 5:00, fourteen more breakout sessions were offered. Saturday didn’t have enough hours in the day, as so many important announcements needed to be made. The unveiling of the impressive new Gemini, the unveiling of a new product in our consumables line, and two more new companies, Heartland Select and Unovus (pronounced You-no-vus).

It was evident by noon that more time in session would be needed to complete the soft launch of Heartland Select. The session was called back to order at 3:00 PM. It was time for the naming of the new CEO of Heartland, one we were told we would never guess in a million years. They were right! Squeeze into the mix too little of Dr. Marsden, a boatload of recognition, an important California American Lung Association announcement and you have almost covered the convention. The box lunches turned out to be tasty and efficient. They allowed this crowd of over 3,000 to be served quickly so we could move on to more events. I hope they do the box lunches again.

The Saturday evening gala!

We grazed through table after table of really wonderful heavy hors d'oeuvres and fruit. The complaints I heard were right on the mark: So much to do and see but too little time! I never guessed we would be doing so much walking from hotel to the conference center. Some of us left our dressy shoes in the closet and wore our airport trekking shoes as much as possible. It helped. At the close of the event, we were invited to do it all over again next year in Knoxville, TN. We signed up for next year’s convention for only $49! You can get that same deal through the end of this month! The dates for next year are August 20 - 22.

More than 400 new Sales Managers were promoted as a result of the Spring Blitz!

A patriotic opening for convention 2008

The 2008 convention opening saw not only a salute to our county, but a salute to the highly decorated Marine son of AJ & Caroline Krause. Dresh Krause was with the first company to enter Baghdad. After returning to his base in the US, Dresh was injured seriously in a climbing accident just a week before he was to return to Mobile at the end of his tour. It was an honor to meet this courageous young man who proudly told of his two younger brothers now entering military service.

Elaine Gibson's son

What a thrill for us to hear from another famous person, Seth Davis, son of Elaine Gibson. Seth writes for Sports Illustrated and is a commentator for CBS Sports for college basketball. He gave a great speech!

Honor for Matt Smith

Honor was paid to Key Manager Matt Smith who died earlier this year and to Dr. Joe Miller who is recovering from a stroke that nearly took his life. We're looking forward to a recovered Dr. Joe to be with us at next year’s convention.

Remembering our flood victims

Later in the convention, concern was expressed for all who were affected by the flooding in the center of the country and especially Dortha and Larry Winer and Marge Fricke of Waverly, Iowa.

Mike Jackson

Mike’s opening remarks set the stage for the entire convention. We must take on some of the responsibility as caretakers of the earth, he said. Every 24 hours 200,000 new babies are born. Daily, 450 billion gallons of fresh water are used on the earth. “We have to do things differently. We have to protect the water, reduce our energy consumption. We have to empower families." said Mike. "We can do a lot of that with our Fab Four — Fresh Air, Living Water, LaundryPure and PowerwoRx."

"Every 30 minutes someone contracts MRSA. With our western diet, we now have the first generation where large numbers of parents will outlive their children. We need to build healthy bodies naturally. Today, families are on the financial brink. They have to make more money and they have to make it now. To help, we need to move upward as a company. We can't live on past glories, past victories, or past defeats. It is a fact that organizations mature and become less productive. We need new excited people who are making money, good money. Major growth happened with the spring blitz. Master Manager Dan Gibson saw 42 new Managers promoted in his group. They are excited and working the summer blitz program really hard. To help that along, a new Summer Blitz personal QV announcement was made by Dan Gibson and Leia Ryan." We were told we can influence the future of the sales plan by making good use of this incentive.

Reduced Personal QV for June, July and August - Distributors and Associate Managers

Distributors and Associate Managers can reduce their personal QV requirement by sponsoring 3 new Dealers that "activate" with either 50 CQV on Autoship or 100 Technology QV.

Reduced Personal QV for June, July and August - Sales Managers

For Sales Managers who need 1,000 PQV, they can reduce that requirement to 500 PQV by sponsoring 2 new Dealers that "activate" with either 50 CQV (Autoship) or 100 Technology QV. Referring Dealers count providing they are in the Sales Managers open group. PQV requirements and options were not taken away. This is one more alternative. Trying the lower qualification for the summer will be instrumental in defining the final compensation program that will be announced in September. The goal is simply to have more people getting more in their checks.

Next year's GPS.

Because sponsoring is the single secret of network marketing, all of the focus and all of the rewards are going into sponsoring this next year. We're going to think quantity. You need to find joiners to find leaders. We looking for fog on the mirror held under their nose. We're looking for the enthusiasm quotient.

GPS for Distributors and Associates Managers will be will be easy to earn

Sponsor 5 Dealers and earn 1 GPS share. Or 5,000 in volume points will earn 1 GPS share. One GPS share will also mean 1 trip point. Sales Managers with 10 new open group Dealers will earn one GPS point and 1 trip point. That’s the road map for success.

David Sutton introduced the segment on web sites and web tools that quickly had everyone on their feet applauding the work of our marketing and IT departments. We could clearly see the separation of divisions as we were given a peek at our future of our web tools.

Water Products Strategy (watch for more information on this topic!)

We already know we have phenomenal water products, but. To address the situation where our products are challenged by the condition of the raw water fed to them, EcoQuest is forming a business alliance with Hague Water Treatment products. Hague is known for its ability to customize a raw water treatment product for the particular challenges of an area. In the future we will be able to call EcoQuest to ask for Hague’s help with a customer with a raw water issue. Hague will come up with the solution, make their sale to our customer and pay us a referral fee. The performance of every one of our water products will be enhanced if the raw water issues are resolved before we do our installations.

This arrangement isn't fleshed out in all of its deal, but the idea is to utilize Hague as an independent service to help our customers with whole home water quality. Most EcoQuest people are not water quality experts; therefore, most of us do not tackle water problems for our customer. Hague gives us a far more professional option. The unit they sell can be customized to handle 83 different water solutions!

A conversation might go like this (keep it simple). "Have you ever been interested in improving your home water quality?" (prospect answers - there are several responses that would justify a referral) "EcoQuest recently decided to refer water interests to a third party so you could get a professional water analysis. Would you like me to ask this third party company to call you?"

Then you give the referral to EcoQuest, where it is forwarded to Hague. Hague sets the appointment, does the water analysis, makes the proposal, handles financing, and takes care of customer service issues. The exact details are not worked out, but the general idea is that you will make $150 per sale commission plus some PV and QV. The customer will spend $3,000 to $4,500 (I will change this price range as more details are made available).

The California American Lung Association

Because of work done by Mark Grijalva and Steve Rangel in California at an Earth Day Trade Show, EcoQuest has the opportunity to partner with the American Lung Association of California on their cause to raise awareness of the issue of air quality. We will be the premier sponsor the upcoming Healthy Air Walk in San Bernardino. This is NOT to be taken as a product endorsement. It is interesting to note they have ordered $17,.000 of this product and expressed their intention to order more. As we are now part of the Healthy Air for Everyone campaign, this project will be closely coordinated by our corporate people. We are not to make contacts with any of the American Lung Association branches but rather are to contact Allen Johnston if we have any contacts in that area. Things that will help our Dealers in Southern California are special marketing materials and labels they will be able to use. Early testing done by NORMI in four Gemini placements produced phenomenal findings.

 

Gemini

Designed as a single room product, there will be an effect beyond the room where it is placed. Given four test homes by the CALA, both aerocell and swab test were taken before the Gemini was turned on. Retest samples were taken again at 4 hours, 24 hours, and 72 hours. By the 4-hour point, both particulate and bacteria dropped to almost zero. At 24 hours, they were zero...as in "perfect."

 

In talking about this unit, Dr. Marsden told of the special Plexiglas room they created as KSU for testing the Gemini. He said there is rapid reduction of particulate. Amazing results were recorded in five minutes. Bacteria kill was rapid, too! Gemini has VOC and particulate sensors that ramp the machine up when pollution is detected. Someone walking into the room wearing strong perfume would cause the unit to come on. When the pollution goes back down, the unit turns down to conserve energy. The packaging is well done, and the unit comes tucked inside a larger shipping box. Gemini is not replacing any product from our line. It is an add-on that fills a niche we haven't been able to cover before. We are already seeing it open doors we’ve not previously been able to walk through. Robia Turner's group has sold 30 for a California Christian School.

 

Understanding the market for our products!

Did you know over 1,000 products on the market claim to be air purifiers? We have the best! And did you know there are more people looking for and needing IAQ (indoor air quality) solutions than ever before. Last year $15.9 billion was spent on IAQ products, and $2.1 billion was spent on IAQ consulting. With our superior products we are and should be getting a greater share. As we work in this industry, it is important that we make sure our belief system matches reality. Others are trying to copy us. They take what we can say about our products and use it in their marketing materials but their products do not measure up. They do not have the technology. Nor do they have the testing we have, even though they like to make people believe they do. Our catalytic process is our own intellectual property, which others do not have. While we know ozone enhances the performance of our products, it doesn’t have to be in a system. When needed for odors, it gives our products a performance boost.

 

Giddens input on Gemini

I arrived home from the convention to find my two previously ordered Geminis on the front porch. Today, along with Sales Manager Tim Croson, I set one up in my living room. As we chatted about the Gemini's place in our marketing efforts. we undid the packing and looked at the unit in detail. As Ev Nelson said, the packaging is amazing. The owner's manual is the best ever. It is easy to read and has the unit's serial number entered at the bottom of the inside cover. Then we plugged it in and worked through the options, finally leaving it on automatic. My home must not be dusty (EQ units everywhere!) because the Gemini operated on the lowest setting. Tim and I grabbed a sofa blanket and shook it in front of the unit to release dust and cotton fibers. In about a minute, the unit sensed the new pollution level and turned the fan speed up three levels. After 30 seconds it went down one level, then another, then another. Within two minutes it was back at the lowest setting. We learned that a "check filter" warning comes on after 3,000 hours, which is 4 months if the unit runs 24 hours a day. In a clean home, the filter may not need changing at that time. The 3,000-hour timer can be reset.

 

Tim and I both agreed that Gemini would probably be the easiest air unit to sell in our line. Fresh Air provide more coverage, and a properly purified home might well have both types of units. But Gemini's features are exciting. They provide what customers want. The sensor  lends itself to an in-home demo. In a dusty home the unit would start off on a high speed (if the AUTO setting is used). Within 24 hours it will have cleaned up the home and notched itself down to a lower speed. The blanket test can be used to demonstrate how the sensor system works. I can just picture people shaking their blanket to show their friends how their sexy air purifier works.

 

This comes from Ev; I don't know exactly what it means!

Recent test data from EMSL on a home in Florida where a 9” DuctwoRx was installed showed a 99% drop in mold spores and a 90% drop in particulate.

The EcoQuest Umbrella

Everything shown at the convention reinforced the idea that every division of this company has adequate appeal, support and strength to enable a person to specialize in ONE product area, yet we are able to receive commissions from all. Mike has been urging us to become an expert and excel in ONE area (or more than one if you have a strong interest in more than one division). This is quite an impressive undertaking. PowerwoRx, for certain, can be a stand-alone business. Tools for this business include: the website, the DVD, a world-class marketing brochure, TWO demonstration kit options, and two Success Pack options.

 

PowerwoRx Demo Kit

The demo kit that comes with the standard Success Pack clearly shows the difference when you activate the PowerwoRx . The ability to show a before and after is highly effective. Ordered separately it is US40732 PV/QV of 250 Dealer cost is $699; Sales Manager Cost is $644.

 

What you need to know about PowerwoRx

This is a premium multi-function product vs. capacitors in a box. Continental Power president Ed Kimmel described PowerwoRx as the "BOSE" of clean power systems. This product is UL approved. The patent is pending. No one but Continental has combined three functions in a product of this kind. He said we need to understand harmonic distortion is a BIG deal. It has been a factor since the 1980’s. It shortens the life of electronic products. How many $$$ worth of electronic products are in your home?

 

In talking about the Continental alliance with EcoQuest, Kimmel said he has three new terms for e3: Extraordinary people; EcoQuest; Entrepreneur. Kimmel said he thought he had set a pretty high benchmark for us to reach if we were to have exclusive rights to the Pe3. We reached it in the first week! Of our statement that we are on a mission to install PowerwoRx in 500,000 homes in America, Kimmel and Allen Johnston said, “Knowing what we know you can do already, we’re upsizing to a One Million PowerwoRx challenge.” Mr. Kimmel went on to say the important marketing statement we must all learn to use is, “It doesn’t cost a thing. It will pay for itself.” He cautioned us about making claims for percentage of reduction stating everyone will see something different. Some will see a rapid return. For others it will take some time. Kimmel talked about the fact that his company has high standards and is built on the concept of quality product. The agreement we have to manufacture this product requires adherence to quality. The PowerwoRx ten year warranty has one condition. It must be installed by a licensed electrician. Coverage of up to $25,000 will cover home appliances and electronics that would be lost if a surge somehow gets past the unit. In looking for an alliance with the right company, and deciding to go with Continental Power, the following factors were considered:

Commercial PowerwoRx

PowerwoRx for commercial applications will be handled by the activTek Environmental. Introductory training sessions are scheduled early in July. It is important for those who want to work in the commercial arena to attend at a city nearby. The cost is $119. There will be 3 levels of participation offered.

 

Tier 1—

Involves the sales process only. You will have to be technically competent, have the ability to measure Power Factor, current and voltage, prepare proposals and coordinate installation. You must have a laptop and the software to do calculations.

 

Tier 2—

Licensed Electricians. Will perform installations and will be able to perform simulation to demonstrate to a customer on the spot, plus install 208/240/480 panel mount units.

 

Tier 3—

Based on expertise and chosen from Tier 2 by Continental Power, will work closely with Continental. Signing of a legal agreement will be required because the intellectual property of Continental will be at risk. July Training Locations for Commercial PowerwoRx:

Should you attend and/or take guests? Ev Nelson plans to attend Atlanta and hopefully will bring her  local electrician, as he would definitely fit the Tier 2 category. If you’ve have commercial interest in the product, hopefully the brief explanation of the three tiers will help you understand the direction this will be taking.

 

LaundryPure2 - The prototype was shown

Judy Renner and Gary Endres talked about the incredible journey we have had with LaundryPure. By the end of this year, we will have LaundryPure2. The LP2 will solve our connectivity issues. It will have a flow switch so the washer will not longer be plugged in to the LaundryPure. Because it won’t require a signal from the washer, even 220 volt washers will work with the new version. A switching power system will allow this product to be used for international installations as well.

 

We’ve had an issue with high efficiency washing machines. There will be two options when we order the LP2. They will allow us to order the unit for either a standard or a high efficiency washer. TDS will no longer affect the silver probe. There will also be an indicator that will give the status of the probe and tell you when it needs to be replaced. The unit is smaller, approximately 4” x 7” x 18” so it will work in more situations than before. This is a product that can serve 100% of homes. It will do it for less money than before. Effective immediately the Suggested Retail Price of the LaundryPure is $449. Profit for a Dealer is $150.

 

Best Finance - Financing a SNAP? Could this really be possible with Best Finance?

Vanessa Brown is the new department head. I'm sure we will all come to love this new addition to our company. All financing matter except UCFS (which is mired in state and federal regulations) will become what we have always wanted...user friendly and maybe even idiot proof! The website will be EASY to navigate. We got a peek at the work already completed at the convention. Everything will be easy to understand, easy to find. Vanessa decided she needed a couple of helpers to figure out where there were problems. She felt her mother would be like many of us who are a bit overwhelmed at the complexity of some of our systems and forms. Her sister, she thought, would be more comfortable at navigating through things. She was also brought in to the study of Best.

 

Soon we will have the new website at our disposal. Introductory webinars will help up learn what we need to know. We've asked if perhaps a weekly webinar could be done to acquaint our new people with Best Financing. This is something we have to deal with in today's world. A training DVD will be available. Heartland Select was introduced as a new company, with Mitchell Tolle as CEO. The first product is a Muscadine juice with amazing medicinal qualities (four ingredients in all). The research on the Muscadine berry (also called a grape) and on our product in particular was by Dr. Diane Hartle PhD at University of Georgia in Athens. She has researched the Muscadine for 10 years. She is considered THE expert on the subject. Dr. Hartle spoke to us from a chemist point of view, but used words like "prevention of" and "treatment of." She also mentioned a wide range of medical benefits such as: heart disease, Metabolic Syndrome, diabetes, cancers, skin care, anti-inflammatory. These are but a few of the benefits. Before putting this product on the market, testing and comparative testing was conducted at the most respected test lab in the US. Tests were done with Heartland Select, Acai Fruit Blend, Mangosteen Juice Blend, Noni and Goji Blend. More products will follow in this line, including capsules and powder. This is a huge industry with billions being spent on competitors' juices. This is an absolutely amazing story of a mother’s determination to help a struggling Down Syndrome infant blossom into a strong, healthy and vibrant child with a smile that says more than words can tell. She is beautiful. An article given to Emily’s mother told of helpful benefits of enzymes with Down Syndrome children. After reading that article, Esther put a nutrition program together centered around Infinity2 products, with the capsule powders mixed with The Enzyme Diet. 4.   Mentally prepare for the fall convention where the details of the Heartland Select program will be announced! As far as we know now, the Heartland convention will be held in November. Details will follow.

Mike Letts

The BEST Time to be with EcoQuest! President Mike Letts gave a Status of the Company speech as the Saturday morning opening. He believes this is the best time to be with EcoQuest. We’ve experienced consistent sales growth every month this year, May being the highest month for sales in a long, long time. Mr. Letts told of the philosophy that Quality is part of everyone’s job. We have a dedicated home office staff. We have huge numbers of NEW Sales Managers, and we have formed powerful relationships and alliances that make the business better and better. We know the world is changing and we have to change with it. The Foundation has been laid for tomorrow.

 

Cultures change two ways, either one step at a time or by revolution. We are changing one step at a time. It is important to understand that people may change as we make sure we have the right people on the bus. In laying the foundation for our tomorrow, Mr. Letts told of the 100-day plan he made and how much of that 100 day plan is already well underway. His strategy of empowering people was evident at the trade show. Melissa Gladwell and Judy Renner were cited as two examples of empowerment. The EQ staff was charged with creating the various displays for the Trade Show. Melissa’s Infinity2 booth was absolutely terrific. Infinity is whole food based. Melissa developed a display that screamed supermarket produce department in a bottle. Judy Renner, on the other hand, built technology displays centered around the sunflower to hint to us that something new is coming called Project Sunflower. Not only was the display terrific, the sunflower seeds scattered all through the display really made a statement. I wanted to win the beautiful sunflower EcoBox!

 

Mike Letts talked about major improvements that have been made in operations, saying they track wait times and the number of dropped calls for customer service are the lowest they have been in the company's history.

 

Ev Nelson’s note #2: I have never attended a company event where the attitude of the people attending was so positive. Not a single person complained to me about the company or people in the company. If you asked others who were there, I believe they will say the same thing. It was evident that the group who attended this convention have a clear vision for their own futures and for the company's future. For months I have “felt the ground moving” in a positive way. My dilemma is simply this….I know what I have to do but what on earth do I do first?
